A VISIT TO SHRI JEGANTHAR OLDAGE HOME

 This year's charity programe of our club has been decided by the executive committee to visit the above referred home and offer one Wheel chair (portable type) and one steel cot as requested by the Founder cum caretaker of the home smt.Sooryakala.  The request was placed before the members during the monthly meetings so as to procure the above said articles from their donations. Most of the members had yielded to our request and full-filled our wish with in no time.

    On 19.10.2014 in spite of heavy monsoon rain as many as 10 members of our club visited the home which is situated near Swamimalai railway gate, Thiruvalanchuzhi patteswaram road at senthil gardens around 11.00 hrs and presented the Wheel chair and the steel cot to the founder of the home.And also we distributed sweets, biscuit and kara to the members of the home in connection with deepavali, in addition to the above shri.N.S. Narayanan, member of our club also offered sweets and biscuit to the inmates.

    Shri.P.Kalyanasundaram, Rotary president welcomed us and narrated how the Old age Home was established by his daughter smt.Sooriyakala lonely by spending her own money without  any external fund at the time of establishment.Subsequently few good people offered little help to reduce her burden.But even now lion's share is borne by her only. In the course of her talk with us she expressed her thanks to our club for our visit as well as for our help.She informed that at present 18 members of both the sexes are staying in the home at  free of cost. She further requested to us to offer Wheat flour,Rice.Dhal and any grocery items  as and when it is possible.We also assured her that we will do our level best.

      shri.S.Krishnan introduced our members to the inmates of the home, shri.T.S.Balasubramanian, secretary explained about our club's activities and thanked all our members to make the event a grand success.Shri.G.Rajagopalan,Treasurer gave vote of thanks and also donated Rs: 500/= to the home in view of his grandson's birthday.We left the home around 12.30 hrs with the remembrance of a meaningful visit.
