visit to Kurukshetra and nearby places


On October 2 nd 2015 we left for Kurukshetra tour by car.It was about 250 kms from Delhi.The journey was undertaken through AH 1 (Asian highway 1) one of the busiest highway with thick traffic concentration.On the way we had our morning south Indian tiffen at sonipet.We reached Kurukshetra around 11.00hrs.We  visited Sanhit sarovar, Brahm Sarovar..Both are holy Theerthas and famous for performing Tharpannam for departed old souls.Covered bathing ghats for pilgrims have been provided.Adjacent to this site Shri Krishna museum is situated.Next we visited Jyotisar the birth place of Bhagawad Gita.It is the most sacred spot, reminiscent of the great epic battle of Mahabharata.This is follwed by our visit to Bhisma kund Where Bhisma was lying on the bed of arrows and had his last gulf of water from his mother ganga and it is represented by a tank.Our programme was culminated after visiting one more Shakthi peet Bhadhra kali temple and then returned to Delhi around 21.00 hrs.
